For the husband who's done managing his marriage and ready to lead it.
An intensive 9-week program built to help you move from passive to powerful at home, with your wife, your kids, and yourself.
You didn't used to be this way. Somewhere between the wedding and now, you started defaulting to whatever kept the peace. Whatever she wanted for dinner. Whatever plan she made. Whatever she decided, because deciding felt like a fight waiting to happen. You call it being easygoing.
If she's honest, she'd call it exhausting. It's not easygoing. It's passive. And passive isn't who you actually are. It's just who you've been defaulting to.
This isn't about becoming loud, harsh, or “in charge.” Powerful doesn't mean dominant. It means steady, clear, and dependable enough that she can finally stop carrying it alone.
Refined To Lead is an intensive 9-week program of coaching, curriculum, and brotherhood, built for one transformation: passive to powerful. Not powerful like force. Powerful like a man whose presence changes the temperature of a room just by being steady in it.
Nine weeks from now, you won't be managing your marriage. You'll be leading it. And she'll feel the difference before you ever explain it to her.
Every week moves you one step closer, from passive to powerful.
| Wk | Module | What it actually does |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Identity Reset | You stop needing her approval to know you're a good man. |
| 2 | Understanding Her | You start seeing what's actually driving the control, not just the control itself. |
| 3 | The Non-Anxious Presence | You become the calm she can lean on instead of the storm she braces for. |
| 4 | The Communication Code | You learn to say the hard thing without losing the room. |
| 5 | The Inner-Healing Deep Dive | You find the wound this whole pattern actually started from. |
| 6 | The Follow-Through System | You become a man whose word is enough on its own. |
| 7 | The Structure Blueprint | You build systems so there's nothing left for her to have to control. |
| 8 | The Brotherhood Code | You stop carrying it alone, for good. |
| 9 | The Rock-Solid Man Plan | You walk out with an actual plan, not just a good memory. |
An identity that doesn't perform for her approval. It's simply secure. A nervous system that holds steady under pressure instead of folding or fighting. Old wounds that finally stop steering from the back seat.
You start seeing what's actually driving her, instead of just reacting to it. Your words carry weight again. Your word means something again.
Real systems where there used to be chaos. Brothers who know the real story, not the highlight reel. A plan you built yourself, and actually use.
Not just information. They coach you through the exact scenarios probably playing out in your kitchen this week.
Every week, built to make you actually sit with it, not just nod along.
60 to 75 minutes of real coaching, real men, and a hot seat that's a lot less scary than it sounds.
Doesn't clock out when the call ends.
A one-page plan, built week by week, that you'll still be using long after week 9.
I didn't build Refined To Lead from a textbook. I built it from my own marriage.
I married my wife, Cara, in 2006. She's a marriage and life coach in her own right, vivacious and gifted, and she came into our marriage carrying real wounds that made control feel like the only safe place to stand. I came in as the passive “nice guy,” the one who kept the peace by not pushing back and letting her carry the weight alone. We had genuine high highs and genuine low lows, more than once wondering if we'd make it. We stayed anyway, trusting God had a purpose in it we couldn't see yet.
He did. Years of hard, honest work healing our own marriage turned into a calling to help other couples find that same healing: an online course, a coaching membership, and now Refined To Lead. I spent eight years training for pastoral ministry and led a church in Michigan before God moved us into a different season. Today I'm a licensed master plumber, a father of five homeschooled kids on 33 acres in Missouri, and the author of two books. None of that makes me an expert on your marriage. What I know firsthand is what it costs a home when the husband stays passive, and what it looks like when he finally doesn't. That's what I built this to teach.
“I had a VERY big internal shift this week. I kept allowing my wife's emotions to dictate my emotions, my validation and internal peace. I've really anchored myself in Christ and my identity in Him, and when she got really mad at me about a simple thing, I didn't give into the need to defend myself. My heart softened, I accepted what she was saying, tried to understand how she was feeling, then responded in love. In return, she softened and even apologized.”
“I started roughly 6 weeks ago, in the middle of a month where my wife and I were not talking. It was the lowest point of my married life. She constantly said I don't lead, I'm passive, I don't take care of her, that I never change. I dug deep into the training, anchored myself in God, and committed to change. Fast forward to today, things are much better. Just yesterday my wife told me she notices I'm putting in lots of effort, that I do care for her. Thank you, Adam, for this group. You truly built something great here.”
“Coming off about a month of my wife not talking to me, I finally had a breakthrough. We started talking again. It wasn't a big romantic gesture. I just approached her at the end of the day and asked one simple question: ‘Are you open to talking with me without fighting?’ What I noticed is that it came after weeks of just focusing on building myself for God and for my family. I approached her prepared to not be the same guy who used to be shaken by her emotions. I just wanted to be a rock: calm, supportive, loving, whatever the outcome.”
Not because scarcity sells. Because round one only works if it stays small enough for me to actually know your name, your story, and what you actually need most.
Cohort begins Thursday, October 1. First live call Monday, October 5. When the seven spots are gone, the next opening is the next round. Not a countdown timer, just the truth.
No. Refined To Lead is Christian coaching and discipleship, not licensed clinical therapy. Week 5 goes deep into inner healing, and we're clear about that line throughout. If something deeper surfaces, you'll be pointed toward a licensed counselor alongside this work, not instead of getting support.
Most men choose to tell their wives. Many find it's the first respected decision she's seen them make in a while. It's not required, but we'll give you a simple way to bring her in if you want to.
Calls are recorded, and you'll have a way to submit questions ahead of time if you know you'll miss one. Consistent no-shows aren't a fit for this cohort. This is for men who show up.
You'll be invited into the Refined Men's Membership: ongoing weekly trainings, the Refined Within inner-healing course, and continued brotherhood. So this isn't a finish line into nothing.
Because the men who invest at this level are the men who finish, do the work, and get real results for themselves, and for their wives and kids watching them lead differently.
Nine weeks from now, you could still be the man handing off every decision because deciding feels too risky. Or you could be the one your home actually leans on. That's the whole offer: nine weeks, one small room of committed men, and a real shift from passive to powerful, starting the day you say yes.
